Dear expectant mother and partner

I am very pleased that you have chosen me for childcare. So that we can discuss everything important and the course of the visits, you have this conversation with me today.

 

Care by the midwife during childbirth is fully covered by health insurance. 

During the first 56 days after birth you are entitled to 10 (if it is not your first child) or 16 (if it is your first child or your child was born prematurely or delivered by cesarean section) visits from me . 

 

During this time we look together at the development of your baby and the involution of the uterus and healing of any birth injuries. Other topics are breastfeeding, newborn care, psychological sensitivities, and exercises for the recovery of your body. 

 

 

Arrangements for midwife care: 

 

So that the postpartum visits go well, I would be happy if you study the following agreements and then sign them. 

 

1. If you do not plan to attend a birth preparation course, I will bill your health insurance company directly for this conversation. Since the health insurance company provides you with a one-time payment of 150 CHF. This amount is intended either for a childbirth preparation course or for this conversation. If you have already attended a birth preparation course or plan to do so, I will not charge you for this conversation. 

2. Unfortunately, some of the individual communities   do not pay the midwives on-call money.  If this is the case, I will bill you directly for the   one-off amount of 125 Fr.   The on-call money covers my availability. I will bill you for the amount as soon as the baby is here. 

3. I would be happy if you let me know as soon as possible when the child is born, so that I can roughly estimate when   the care will start and I will then also be available for you

4. If you are considering going home on an outpatient basis, ie 6 hours after the birth, let me know before the birth so that I can come to your home at very short notice. Note: in this case, the on-call fee does not apply because it is covered by the canton. 

5. As soon as you see a problem or something is wrong, don't wait, contact me immediately. Problems can usually be solved better if you start at the beginning. 

6. My specified visit times can vary  +/- 30min, since I cannot always say exactly how long the previous visits last. A visit usually takes 60 minutes.
